First let’s describe what is not considered to be custom work:
- Requesting that a standard piece be made facing either way. With the exception of the flounder, all of our patterns are reversible. Just ask and we’ll be glad to orient your piece either way. Incidentally, in nature, ALL flounders around the world face to the left, a fun fact to know and tell.
- Requesting an alternate finish on the piece. We have only two, and one is no harder than the other. For instance, if you want a windfish with either finish on both sides, or a clear coat dolphin ornament, just let us know.
- If the rough dimensions given must be exact to fit in a tight spot, tell us and we will take pains to make it so.
- TO REQUEST ANY OF THE ABOVE SERVICES AT NO CHARGE, just send us an e-mail IMMEDIATELY after ordering to: dandk@coastalcopperart.com specifying exactly what you want and we will confirm by return e-mail.
What is considered custom work:
Anything that falls outside the modifications set forth above, from resizing a standard piece to a statue of your Uncle Fred. Please understand that the preparatory work for doing one special piece (art, pattern making and transfer, etc.) is the same as setting up to do a thousand or more of them and this cost is reflected in the price of the work. Don’t expect a custom piece to be comparably priced to the other work on this site.
With all that being said, don’t be hesitant to leave a comment or e-mail us with your idea.
While we no longer actively seek commissions, we still enjoy taking one on when time allows to keep our work interesting and challenging.
