Each piece begins as an original freehand drawing. Subject matter is inspired for the most part by life on the Texas Gulf Coast (although I found the conch seen here thirty something years ago on the beach in St. Croix, USVI). Once I have a drawing, the next step is embossing it into copper.
After I have a drawing, I emboss it into 30–32-gauge copper sheet with hand tools. Once the copper is tooled into shape, I'll color it with a handheld propane torch. Each piece of copper is unique, and colors differently, so no two pieces are ever alike.
The finished piece is then photographed; the work is made into a signed and numbered print and is available alone or framed. Other items featuring images of the original copper art are available: mugs, mousepads, keychains and more. If you are interested, the original copper pieces are also available for purchase. Contact me for pricing and availability. New pieces are being made all the time, so consider bookmarking the site if you like what you see and check back! A portion of every sale is donated to the Coastal Conservation Association - CCA
2024 UPDATE:
